Huber Heights grew rapidly in the 1950s and 1960s when developer Charles Huber built thousands of brick ranch homes, giving the city its nickname: “America’s Largest Community of Brick Homes.” Originally farmland within Wayne Township, the area was incorporated as the City of Huber Heights in 1981.
