So once you have received an estimate from Good Guy Home Improvements on your basement finishing project and have decided to hire us to finish it we will put you on our schedule. Then I draw up a contract for us both to sign at the next scheduled meeting. The rest of the process will happen as follows.

Step one: All the necessary permits for finishing your basement are pulled by us, which are Building, Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing if necessary. All of these get rough inspections, as well as an insulation inspection if the insulation doesn't already meet code and then final inspections.

Step two: We show up on day one and protect your existing floors with tarps and plastic while we get all the materials and tools carried into the basement. We then frame the basement according to the drawings agreed upon using 2x4 studs, 16 inches on center with all the crowns on the same side. Once framing is complete we collect on the first payment.

Step three: Electric, HVAC, and Plumbing get roughed in and rough inspected.

Step four: Insulation if needed, and code is R-13 floor to ceiling on all exterior walls. Then it gets inspected and we collect on the second payment.

Step five: Drywall.

Step six: Doors and trim.

Step seven: Bathroom amenities get installed, as well as cabinetry and counters for a mini kitchen or bar.

Step eight: Painting.

Step nine: Flooring.

Step ten: Final inspections, once those all pass we clean the basement to make it spotless for you as well as have any carpet we traveled on upstairs professional cleaned even though we keep it covered through out the process and then we collect the final payment.

We try to make this as pleasant an experience as we can. We can install a lock box on the front door or use the garage code to get in and out of the house if someone isn't always available to let us in and out.
